Item Pillars of Effective and Efficient Energy Systems in Nigeria(International Conference on Energy and Sustainable Environment (IOP Conf. Series), 2021) Fayomi O. S. I.; Banjo S.O.; Agboola O.; Oyebanji J. A.; Udoye N. E.Nigeria is posed with a myriad of challenges to achieving efficient energy systems; the colossal collective demand for sufficient electricity for approximately 200 million is a concern. Another challenge is the mismanagement of Nigeria’s abundant resources, by individuals and by groups. It has withheld us, for decades, from making the bold and rapid progress which ought to have made for the energy system. This report explores the concept of an energy system in Nigeria perspective and progresses.Item Review on coal-fired power plants from post-combustion CO2 process and challenges(TECHNOLOGIES AND MATERIALS FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY, ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY: TMREES21Gr, 2022-05) Agboola O.; Moropeng M. L.; Fayomi O. S. I.; Oyebanji J. A.; Oluwasegun K. MThe capturing of CO2 from power plant flue gases offers unique chance to alleviate the emissions of coal-fired power plants to the environment. The fraction of CO2 captured and the increased production of CO2 that results from loss in the whole efficiency of power plants are determinant factors for the net emissions reduction to the atmosphere via carbon dioxide capture storage. Post-combustion capture is of great interest as it is easy to implement as to existing power plants. The use of post combustion capture in power plant was reviewed. The challenges of post combustion process were reviewed with possible solutions.Item Short review on solvent resistance nanofiltration membranes for the treatment of waste water(2022-08) Agboola O.; Fayomi O. S. I.; Sadiku R.; Popoola A. P. I; Adegbola A. T.; Moropeng I.; Oyebanji J. A.; Oluwasegun K. M.With the potential wastewater generated in modern chemical industries, separation of organic at more extreme conditions is inevitable. On the account of finding a sustainable and effective separation, the preparation of solvent-resistant Nanofiltration (SRNF) membranes appeared to be a promising solution. In this review, a short overview on SRNF and its benefits was given. We highlighted the efforts made in using SRNF for some industrial applications like bio-refinery and petrochemical. The performance evaluation of SRNF for different applications was also discussed, briefly. Factors responsible for the Stability of SRNF membrane and classification of SRNF Membranes were also discussed.
