Based on a sample size of four hundred and ninety-nine (499) frontline managers drawn from selected manufacturing firms, smart partial least squares (SMART PLS) 3.0 was adopted to show the relationships among frontline managers' competencies, wellbeing initiatives, and perceived job engagement in the world of work. The statistical results show that the dimensions of front-line managers' competencies, significant change-management skills, employee relations, business savvy, and problem-solving skills, greatly influenced job engagement, while components of talent wellbeing initiatives mediate the relationship between front-line managers' competencies and job engagement. The study recommends that frontline managers adopt a continuous competency evaluation approach, focusing on frequent evaluations to identify areas of improvement and potential for development. As a means of developing a resilient and competent managerial workforce, it emphasises the significance of specifically designed wellbeing programmes that address the difficulties associated with their jobs. Organisations may foster a good work environment that improves wellbeing in general and supports long-term, productive engagement. Existing literature that focused on the frontline managers' competency theme in the manufacturing industry scarcely examined the processes critical to wellbeing initiatives and perceived job engagement in the manufacturing industry. As a result, the present study uses a moderating variable of employee wellbeing initiatives to explain how frontline managers’ competencies foster job engagement.Item Strengthening the role of relationship management in sustainable employee engagement at selected maritime firms in Nigeria(International Journal of Innovative Research and Scientific Studies Vol. 7 No 3, 2024) Adeniji, Chinyerem; Joel, Opeyemi Olunike; Ayankola, Temitope; Adesanya, Oluwatoyin Deborah; Efe- Imafidon, EmmanuelRelationship management in a maritime firm is essential for maintaining strong partnerships ensuring smooth operations and driving business success within the industry. Extant literature suggests that Nigerian maritime firms must still thoroughly investigate relationship management possibilities and sustainable employee engagement. As a result, this study explores how relationship management affects employee engagement at selected Nigerian maritime companies. 410 respondents were polled from the employees of the selected marine enterprises in Nigeria using a stratified and purposeful sampling technique. Smart PLS 3.0 was used to analyze the returned and valid 380 copies of the questionnaire which provided a response rate of 92.6%. The study's findings demonstrated that relationship management impacted employees' cognitive, affective and behavioural engagement. The findings also revealed that behavioural engagement encompassing dedication, enthusiasm and initiative in fulfilling job duties and advancing organizational objectives is the weakest predictor of employee engagement. This suggests a widespread belief that fostering "cultural diversity and unity" in a global workplace is crucial to inspire employees' engagement and passion for their work. This study offers valid evidence in support of its conclusion that relationship management stimulates the cognitive, affective and behavioural engagement of employees in the Nigerian maritime industry. The study recommends to maritime companies that recognizing diversity and unity in relationship management is essential for higher employee engagement and involvement levels.Item Tripartite relationships between frontline managers’ competencies, wellbeing initiatives, and perceived job engagement in a developing economy(International Journal of Innovative Research and Scientific Studies, 7(3), 2024) Falola, Hezekiah O.; Joel, Opeyemi; Efe-Imafidon, Emmanuel; Onyia, ValerieThe main objective of this study is to investigate the tripartite relationships between frontline managers' competencies, wellbeing initiatives, and perceived job engagement in some selected manufacturing firms in Nigeria. This has contributed to the shortage of doctors and nurses in the Nigeria health sector. The study’s objective is to crystallise the challenges of health worker retention in Nigeria through a critical literature review. The study used data from previously published peer-reviewed articles published in recognised and credible scientific journals. Relevant information was obtained from these sources, conceptualised, and discussed alongside existing literature. Key findings from the research are attributed to a lack of competitive pay, state-of-the-heart medical equipment deficiency, security, and lack of political will by the government. To this end, there is a need for restructuring of the health sector in Nigeria to address issues relating to poor remuneration, infrastructure, training opportunities, and the well-being of the health workers.Item Strategic Fit Orientation and Business Agility of Non-Oil Export Women Entrepreneurs in a Developing Economy(Sustainaility (MDPI), 2024-07) Adesanya, Oluwatoyin Deborah; Ogunnaike, Olaleke Oluseye; Ufua, Daniel Ebakoleaneh; Onayem, Oluwakemi Oluwafunmilayo; Dada, Augustina Esitse; Edewor, Ogheneofejiro JesujobaA firm’s ability to compete effectively depends on matching its internal operations with various exterior contexts. This study addressed the gap between strategic fit orientation and business agility in developing economies.Item Re-evaluating the Impact of Product Quality Consistency on Customer Satisfaction: Insights from Coca-Cola, Nigeria(Coveanant Journal of Business and Social Sciences (CJBSS) Vol. 15, No. 2, 2024-12) Ufua, Daniel E.; Babalola, 0moniyi, S.; Falola, Hezekiah O.; Gudeta, Konjit HailuThe effect of product quality consistency on customer satisfaction at Coca-Cola Nigeria, which focuses on its Lagos State operations, was investigated in this study. In a highly competitive market, customer satisfaction is influenced by various factors, including product quality, pricing, and brand image. Despite Coca-Cola's established reputation, understanding the direct impact of product quality consistency on customer satisfaction and loyalty in the Nigerian context still needs to be explored. This study addresses this gap by examining how product quality consistency shapes customer experiences and satisfaction. The research employs a descriptive approach, utilising a survey of 271 Coca-Cola consumers in Lagos State. Data were analysed using structural equation modelling to assess the relationship between product quality consistency and customer satisfaction across three key dimensions: perceived quality, accessibility, and feedback. The results indicate strong positive relationships, with path coefficients of 0.399 (p < 0.000) for accessibility, 0.394 (p < 0.000) for feedback, and 0.331 (p < 0.000) for perceived quality. These findings underscore the importance of consistent product quality in enhancing customer satisfaction. The study recommends that Coca-Cola Nigeria prioritise maintaining high standards of product quality while also considering other factors, such as pricing and brand image, to boost customer loyalty. Limitations include the focus on Lagos State, and future research could explore similar relationships in other regions of Nigeria. This study contributes to the existing literature on quality consistency and customer satisfaction, providing actionable insights for companies seeking to improve their competitive edge through customer-centric strategies.Item Re-evaluating the Impact of Product Quality Consistency on Customer Satisfaction: Insights from Coca-Cola, Nigeria(Covenant Journal of Business and Social Science Vol.
