    Resettlement action plan of Lagos red rail line and project affected persons’ (PAPs) perception

    This study emphasizes on the project affected persons and their perception concerning the activities of government in Lagos State. Lagos Red Rail Line is going to be a laudable project that will enhance socioeconomic development of the State and reduce traffic jam when completed. The study employed survey research technique which include administration of interview to the respondents through focus group discussion in Ikeja, Yaba, Mushin and Oyingbo and secondary source of data such as Journals, Internet, Government Gazette, and Magazines. The study reveals that lack of confidence in government coupled with high rate of illiteracy is responsible to the negative reaction of the project affected persons. The study therefore recommends that government at all levels in Lagos State and Nigeria at large should build the confidence of the residents in the State and Nigeria by fulfilling the promises made to residents of Lagos State and Nigerians before and after the elections.

    X‑ray of agricultural development programme and food security in Nigeria

    Background The level of food security in Ogun State particularly in the rural areas is below the threshold globally as explained by Adekoya. The female-headed households in Ogun State spend more money on the purchase of food items vis-à-vis the male-headed household caused by poor agricultural practices and government highhandedness. Sequel to this problem that the Ogun State government initiated OGADEP in 1986 to provide virile extension and technical services to the farmers with the introduction of many agricultural strategies which inter alia include training of staff, field visits, promotion of dry season food production to enhance food security in the State. To achieve this feat, several mechanisms are also put in place to make the strategies function effectively and efficiently but despite these, food security is still a challenge in Ogun State. Sequel to the backdrop the study seeks to determine the contribution of training of extension agents to food security, examine the contribution of field visit to food security and evaluate the promotion of dry season food production to food security. Results The study gathered data through primary and secondary sources, such as questionnaires, interviews, journals, government gazettes, etc. A Partial Least Square was employed in analyzing the data. The study revealed that training of extension agents, field visit and the promotion of dry season food production did not contribute significantly to food security in Ogun State due to ways the programme is handled. Conclusions Though Ogun State Agricultural Development Programme (OGADEP) initiated strategies and mechanisms that will help to achieve sufficiency in food production. Lack of wider coverage is a bane to achieving feats in agricultural development coupled with poor execution of policy. The implication of this is that many farmers end up practicing agriculture traditionally. The study made the recommendation that government should commit more efforts toward the programme to achieve its mission.

    Contribution of Public Private Partnership to Educational Development in Nigeria

    This study is on the contribution of public private partnership (PPP) to education development in Nigeria. PPP is seen as a panacea to revamping educational sector that is experiencing decline in term of quality everyday due to insensitivity on the part of government to finance education to meeting up the minimum requirement benchmark put forward by the United Nation (UN). Sequel to this backdrop that the study seeks to examine the extent at which PPP has assisted in revamping the educational sector in Nigeria. However, this research adopts qualitative approach to analyze its data, the materials used in this study were garnered from the secondary sources which include Journal publications, internet, books etc. The study found out that Public Private Partnership (PPP) also known as Private Financial Initiative (PFI) has contributed to educational sector greatly. The study therefore recommends that concerted effort should be made by the government and private sectors to providing lasting solution to decline in educational sector of Nigeria.

    The Bibliometric Commingling of Metaverse and Non-fungible Tokens in Marketing

    Historically, business organisations are always looking for a new approach to marketing and advertising their products to reach their target customers. The introduction of the Internet helped businesses to reach more potential customers than it was before. Currently, the newest technologies that have become the centre of attraction in marketing are metaverse and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Marketing practitioners and scholars continue to show interest in technological metaverse and NFTs as an up-and-coming platform for enhancing consumer satisfaction experience virtually the same as the experience in physical stores. The aim of this study is to examine the impact of commingling of metaverse and NFTs in marketing with the lens of bibliometric analysis through R Bibliometrix. This study contributes to the marketing and financial technology literature by showing academic work’s impact, quantity, and quality on metaverse and NFTs. The study sectionalises methodology, results, and conclusions and gives future research insights.

    Structural violence and policy outcomes of Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme in selected ministries, Lagos State

    The decentralization of the NHIS’s implementation to states intended to hasten progress towards universal health coverage, has not effectively addressed healthcare disparities, particularly in Lagos State. The implementation of the Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme appears to perpetuate structural violence, evident in increased out-of-pocket expenses, discrimination based on insurance type, and substandard healthcare delivery. The study therefore examined how structural violence has affected the policy outcomes of the Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme, with a specific emphasis on junior officers in grade level 01–07 in five selected ministries situated within Lagos State. Both primary and secondary data were collected using questionnaire, interview and literature search. Data gathered were analysed statistically and thematically. The findings of the study indicate that the policy outcome of the scheme has been adversely affected by structural violence, resulting in dissatisfaction, compensation claims for unresolved health issues and a shift in health insurance providers among enrolled junior officers.

    Public Private Partnership Versus Socio-Economic Development: Panacea to Achieving Economic Growth in Nigeria

    Socio-economic development is one of the key ingredients to achieving economic growth in the world. Country where this ingredient is lacking or inadequate experiences decline in the development which affects all facets of such country. Nigeria being the most populous black nation in the world has set a vision geared towards achieving a monumental growth that will launch her to be amongst twentieth (20th) economies in the world by the year 2020. However, to achieve this success public private partnership also known as private financial initiatives (PPP/PFI) model has been adopted in Nigeria, despite this arrangement, the goal is still doubtful as most of the key ingredients of socio-economic development that are capable of making Nigeria to be amongst the 20 economies of the world are inadequate or not measuring up to standard. It’s against this backdrop that this study seeks to examine the role played by the PPP/PFI with respect to achieving growth in Nigeria. However, the study adopts documentary approach to analyze its result, materials were collected from the secondary sources which inter alia include Journal publications, internet, Magazine etc. The study found out that infrastructure, education, industry etc. have not been adequate to put Nigeria in the path of growth due to weak institutions, lack of political will and corruption. The study therefore recommends that government should be realistic in the formulation and execution of its policies by establishing a strong and formidable institution that is capable of assisting the government to consolidate its political will free from internal and external influences and more power should be given to the agencies established to fight corruption.

    Youth and Electoral Violence in Nigeria’s Fourth Republic: When will the youth be responsible?

    Election is an important tool that helps to shape peaceful transition of political regimes in a democratic state. Electoral processes in Nigeria, over the years, are marred with malpractices and other massive irregularities, which often lead to premeditated killings and post-election violence, where the youth are mobilised to perpetrate the dastardly act that culminates in fear, insecurity and intimidation of opponents. Many lives and property worth millions of Naira have been destroyed with nobody getting arrested and prosecuted, thereby leaving the citizens in the state of abysmal hopelessness. The authors examine the youth and electoral violence in Nigeria’s Fourth Republic. They adopt a survey research technique in which they interview respondents purposively in five geopolitical zones. The study concludes that youths are responsible for the electionrelated violence that has characterised previous elections in the current republic since 1999 and perpetrated by hired thugs comprising largely the youths in various capacities and constituencies across political parties in Nigeria. The paper, therefore, recommends that the constitution and electoral laws should be reviewed to capture the punishment that will be meted out to the perpetrators, regardless their party affiliations, religion or ethnic groups.

    Nigeria Cue from Global E-Governance for the Civil Service: A Bibliometric Literature Review

    Electronic governance (e-governance) promotes accountability between the government and its citizens and is a global development. It is a process of using information technology to exchange data, communicate, and deliver government services. E-governance gave birth to an innovative model of government to citizen (G2C), government to business (G2B), government to government (G2G), and government to employees (G2E). This radical change is one of the great things that has happened to the world as the governance framework impacts the back-office processes and interactions. This study employed a quantitative methodology with bibliometric analysis. The results show the longitudinal and transverse waves of e-governance in academic literature, and this study proposed future research agenda.
