dc.description | The paper examines current academic prescriptions of the causes of confl ict in cornplex organizations and gives the pana.cea for homeostasis and stabil ity. It opines that the study of organizational behaviour cannot be complete without an in-depth theoretical and critical analysis of conflict situations and how to settle them. While conflict in organizations is inevitable, the place of the academic is to proffer solutions whenever they arise, by recognizing the conflict, defining it, considering alternative solutions, testing each for reliability and validity and selecting the best option. The exposition concludes that homo sapiens in complex organizations should view the existence of conflicts as a necessary evil which serves as an indicator to the dynamism of establishments, hence we should learn to cope with various conflict situations and accept change instead of adopting evasive attitude, subterfuge and resignation. | |
